Approach to work.

While working at Chapps, Oleksii introduced and implemented the Kanban approach across multiple projects. Later, at NGTI and Swisscom, he began combining Kanban, Agile, and Scrum, adapting each framework to fit the unique rhythm and goals of every project.

His approach is highly flexible, shaped by the project’s nature and deliverables, from rapid MVPs, quick integrations, and short-term concept explorations to long-term user testing, complex roadmaps, and large-scale systems requiring advanced security and risk management.

Oleksii balances hands-on creativity with precision. He moves effortlessly between sketching fast prototypes on paper and building within established design systems to maintain consistency with a company’s ecosystem and product philosophy.

Leadership

With a background in Psychology and Philosophy, Oleksii brings empathy and understanding to his leadership. He tailors his approach to each team member, helping reduce stress and build focus, curiosity, and high performance.

He mentors younger colleagues, guiding them to grow into confident, capable professionals who think critically and design with purpose.

Bio

Oleksii is a multidisciplinary Senior Product Designer with 18 years of experience in the professional IT field. His career spans projects of every scale, from small creative studios like Chapps to industry leaders such as Swisscom.

His journey began in 2007, during university, as a freelance graphic designer on the Behance platform. Driven by curiosity and discipline, he joined AWWsoft Creative Agency in 2008, where, under the mentorship of an Art Director and senior artists, he quickly expanded his skills across multiple design disciplines.

A year later, Oleksii became Lead Web and Graphic Designer at the luxury furniture import company Tango, further deepening his design and leadership experience.

In 2015, drawn to the world of mobile applications and product design, Oleksii joined the multidisciplinary design agency Chapps. Over two transformative years, he rose to Lead Product Designer, working across a wide range of projects, from early-stage startups to large e-commerce, fintech, telecommunications, and entertainment companies.

While living in Paris, he was recruited by NGTI, an innovative Swisscom development partner based in Rotterdam. As Lead Product Designer at NGTI, Oleksii played a key role in major Swisscom initiatives, including the Kickbox innovation program, the Internet-Box & WLAN-Box platform serving over 3.3 million users, and the Swisscom Smart Home experience integrated into the My Swisscom App.

After two successful years with NGTI and Swisscom, Oleksii declined permanent contracts in both the Netherlands and Switzerland to pursue a long-held dream to live in Tokyo. He relocated in March 2019, studied Japanese intensively for two years, and continued his career as a freelance Senior Product Designer and Consultant.

While completing his language studies, Oleksii also contributed to projects at Gonnosukezaka Studio in Tokyo, combining his international background with a deep respect for Japanese culture and work ethics.

Today, fully integrated into Japanese society and strong in the language, Oleksii is ready for the next chapter, bringing his global design experience, leadership, and cross-cultural understanding to new creative challenges.
